Most law firms and advice charities reach a point where they need support.
That might be help with strategy and direction; It might be strengthening governance, leadership, or management systems; It might be tackling compliance risks, improving sustainability, or dealing with performance and capacity pressures.
That’s where I come in.
I work with law firms and advice organisations to help them become clearer, stronger, and more resilient. I support organisations to understand where they are now, what needs attention, and what they could realistically become.
My work spans organisational development, management and leadership, sustainability and profitability, governance, succession planning, compliance, and ethics. Sometimes that means fixing what isn’t working. Sometimes it means strengthening what already is. Often, it means helping organisations navigate change without losing their values or their people.
Alongside practical advice and structured support, I act as a critical friend — offering perspective, challenge, and reassurance through periods of pressure, transition, or uncertainty.
I am Director of the LAPG Management & Leadership Hub and the Civic Power Fund’s Governance Hub, and lead trainer on the LAPG Management & Leadership Programme. I also lead a wide range of management and leadership training across the advice and legal aid sector. Earlier in my career, I spent eight years as a Senior Legal Adviser at the Legal Services Commission, so I understand legal aid from the inside.
My clients have included law firms, advice agencies, local authorities, funders and philanthropic foundations, representative and umbrella bodies (including the Law Society, LAPG, Law Centres Network, and Citizens Advice), universities, think tanks, and individual leaders.
I bring over 30 years’ experience as a lawyer and more than 15 years as a consultant, working at the intersection of law, governance, leadership, and organisational change.
